These two satellite images, captured on July 4, 2025, and March 4, 2026, show the Shajareh Tayebeh girl’s school in the town of Minab, in southern Iran before and after it was bombed by the United States and Israel on the first day of the Iran war.
The two missile strikes killed at least 160 people, the majority of which were primary school children along with their teachers, according to the United Nations.
The US President, Donald Trump, said the Pentagon’s investigation into the strike was ongoing when asked by reporters at the G7 summit in France in June. While he stopped short of taking responsibility for the attack, he said, “Nobody did that on purpose,” and “mistakes are made, war is nasty.”
UNESCO, has denounced the bombing acknowledging it constitutes a grave violation of humanitarian law.
The satellite imagery from March 4 shows the school destroyed as well as damage to other sites within the compound believed to have belonged to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
