Paulo Nunes dos Santos

Photojournalist

Paulo Nunes dos Santos (1977, Portugal) is a Dublin-based freelance photojournalist and reporter covering armed conflicts, humanitarian crises, political instability and social issues around the world. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times and Jornal Expresso, and an occasional contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Al-Jazeera, Le Monde and other international publications. Paulo has received several journalism and photography awards and his reporting has appeared in publications such as Liberation, Smithsonian, International Herald Tribune, TIME.com, Sunday Times, The Irish Times, Courrier International, as well as in various books, corporate magazines and websites. From 2015 to 2018, Paulo curated Sintra Press Photo, an annual exhibition of photojournalism works at MU.SA – Sintra Art Museum, in Portugal. He is currently working on several projects related to national identity and the complex political and social dynamics of the island of Ireland.
